The traditional Christmas dinner usually includes a delicious ham and many people enjoy them for Thanksgiving as well instead of a turkey. How to Save On Hams

How to Save on Ham

Money Saving Coupons – Search for coupons and special discounts that will lower the price per pound. Stores often run specials to help draw in more customers but you do have to look for them. Be on the look out for in store coupons (generally in the sales flyer) for Free Ham when you spend $x amount. This is how I save on turkey every year. Its one of the best ham deals available every year.

Shop Online – Search prices online to save both time and money instead of running from store to store looking for the best deal.

Be Selective – Don’t buy the precut hams. They cost more than the ones not already sliced and it’s really not a big deal slicing it yourself.

Buy Early – Buy your ham a few weeks early and freeze it because prices go up right before the holidays arrive.  Generally the earlier you purchase your ham the better as earlier is when many stores offer the biggest discounts.

Leftovers – Freeze and save the leftovers to avoid waste. Ham tastes great no matter how you serve it whether it’s on a sandwich or part of your meals.

Use one or more of these tips to help save money on your ham this year. Saving money every way you can will help to reduce some of the financial burden most people deal with during the holidays.
